The two sites are located along Syon Lane, on either side of the Great West Road and Gillette Corner, within the London Borough of Hounslow. There are excellent transport connections close by including Syon Lane Train Station providing over ground rail services, Osterley Station providing London Underground services as well as a large number of bus services. The sites also benefit from close proximity to local green spaces including Osterley Park, Syon Park and Boston Manor Park.
The Tesco Osterley site is 13.5 acres and the Homebase Brentford site is 3.5 acres. There is a unique opportunity to relocate the existing Tesco Osterley store across to the soon to be vacated Homebase Brentford site and into a new, modern store. Both sites will deliver exciting, mixed used developments including new homes, green spaces, shops and workspaces.
The London Plan designates both sites within the Great West Road Opportunity Area. The Opportunity Area aims to deliver a minimum of 7,500 new homes and up to 14,000 new jobs.
The London Borough of Hounslow has itself produced its own Plan for the Opportunity Area. This envisages seven new mixed-use quarters where new development will inject vibrancy, urban life and a new focus into this part of Hounslow.
At a local level, both sites have been allocated for residential-led mixed use development including high quality new homes and commercial spaces.
The two sites are subject to two separate planning applications. Tesco Osterley is an Outline application and Homebase Brentford is a Full Detailed application.
